Each location in Japan is the only one precious scene with lots of stories
In the second year of Japan Location Market (JLM) Project, the focus is applied to contents (regional visual contents) creations that use a regional resource in their making and various projects which aim at binding the contents and regional promotion in their production. In the JLM Seminar held during the 21st Tokyo International Film Festival, the directors and the animation creators will gather to explain the background of the location scouting for animation and the importance of the scenery and its characteristics of existing locations in their work. Moreover, the official announcement of the launch of Japan Film Commission (JFC) which will start to function in April 2009 will be held. JFC will be established with an aim to enhance the strengthening of support network for location shooting in Japan and for promoting Japan as a shooting location for overseas. In continuance with last year, the JLM by holding JLM Booth at TIFFCOM and executing the stage events in Roppongi Hill’s Arena will support the activities of local film industry and help promotion of film projects which use the local contents in their production.

The theme of this seminar shall be the revitalization of Film Commissions through enhance of support to local film and television program shooting activities with an overall aim to help the information sharing about the locations. The theme of this year is ‘Location Scouting and Animation'.

Event 2: 17:00~17:30 The Announcement of Japan Film Commission (JFC)
The official announcement of the launch of Japan Film Commission (JFC), which will be established in April 2009, shall be announced. JFC, as the first stop for foreign production companies and individuals willing to shoot in Japan, will enhance the shooting support activities within Japan and promote Japan as a shooting location for overseas.

JLM Live Stage
JLM Live Stage will introduce the films in production or pre-production shoot in locations around Japan. You may also enjoy the local events and local special products from the areas of locations in the movies at the arena main stage. Variety of events such as a special event of visual images which can only be seen on the stage and events depicting the colors of Japan locations will be held.

JLM Booth at TIFFCOM
JLM TIFFCOM Booth will introduce not only the contents from the JLM live stage, but also the movies shoot in various locations around Japan including film projects which are about to be screened. The booth will provide preview of these films and related leaflets.
